AI

I use AI tools rarely and with caution. My default position is skepticism, especially when tools hide labor, waste energy, flatten culture, or produce confident errors. I do use machine learning in limited cases where it solves a real access or workflow problem, such as captions, transcripts, experiments, and proof of concept work. When I use it, I try to say so clearly.

In general I am opposed to the use of AI/LLM/ML except in very specific use cases. I support People Pledge Party. Here is when I use LLM/ML:

1. for captions on zoom
2. otter.ai for captions and transcripts as I often need assistance with audio/video.
3. proof of concepts/experimenting with AI to see if it is useful or not, I try and label when I use these.

My concerns with AI #

1. Garbage in, garbage out (GIGO)
2. Environmental impact
3. Socio/cultural - communal impact
4. ineffecient
