Converting a WordPress Site to Build Awesome

Working notes on moving this site off WordPress and onto Build Awesome (an Eleventy starter); I am keeping the exact commands here b/c I will not remember them later.

Quick Start #

You'll need:

• Node.js installed.
• Your WordPress export file. Be sure to export "All Content".

Then run this in your terminal:

npx wordpress-export-to-markdown

1/ Export all WordPress content as *.xml

2/ Run https://github.com/lonekorean/wordpress-export-to-markdown against the export.

3/ Find a theme or build your own #Build Awesome site.

4/ I started with:

npm install @awesome.me/buildawesome --save-dev
npm install @11ty/eleventy @11ty/eleventy-img
npm install @apleasantview/eleventy-plugin-baseline
npm run dev

5/ The theme I chose to port to 11ty is Ghost's Headline, https://headline.ghost.io/ (source: https://github.com/TryGhost/Headline).
