TIDEL Conference: Racial Justice in the Digital Public Square Preesntation

I'm honored to be presenting alongside Dean Teresa Smallwood at the Technology, Innovation & Digital Engagement Lab (TIDEL) Symposium in New York City on October 1, 2026.

Here's why this gathering matters to me. Most of us feel it — the sense that technology is moving faster than our ability to think clearly about it. We adopt tools before we've asked what they're for. We watch innovation set the pace and scramble to keep up. TIDEL was created as a space to slow down and ask better questions: How do we make good decisions about our tech use? What does responsible engagement look like when the ground keeps shifting?

I'll be leading the Racial Justice in the Digital Public Square track — a conversation about who gets heard, who gets harmed, and what justice requires of the platforms where so much of our public life now happens. It's work I care deeply about, and I can't think of a better setting for it.
