Revisiting my 2013 WCC Busan paper, I argue public theology must refuse the nation-state as its frame and build solidarity from difference, not unity.

In November 2013 I sat in Busan, South Korea, at the Tenth Assembly of the World Council of Churches, praying for the visible unity of the church while my own country built a wall along its southern border. Those questions became a paper for the Global Ecumenical Theological Institute, "Theologians Without Borders." This post brings them to public theology.
